라스베이거스에서 열린 64회 그래미어워드에서 미국의 재즈 가수 존 바티스트가 올해의 앨범상을 받았다. 아쉽게도, 모두가 기대했던 베스트 팝 듀오/그룹 퍼포먼스 부분에 BTS 대신 도자 캣&SZA이 수상했다. 이번 그래미 어워즈는 M.NET 에서 독점 방영 됐는데 진행을 받은 배철수도 '그래미가 방탄소년단을 홍보에 적극적으로 활용한다는 인상을 지울 수 없다.'고 아쉬움을 토로했다. 하지만 '비밀 요원' 콘셉트로 보여준 '버터' 퍼포먼스는 기립박수 받을 만큼 역대급이었다. 마치 뮤지컬을 연상케하는 퍼포먼스로 무대를 '찢었다'.

그래미어워드 3관상의 영예를 안은 올리비아 로드리고와 아찔한 '투 샷'을 남긴 뷔의 모습도 전 세계 여심을 흔들었다. 무대 후, 라이브 방송에서 지민은 '멤버 7명이 모두 모여 딱 하루 맞췄다'며 프로페셔널한 무대 장인의 모습을 보여줬다.
